Mom Jeans and Head Wraps.

Heyyyyo
How are yáll doing on this fine day? Hoping you're fourth week of March is taking yáll well and good. Just heard the word "Flabbergast" in a song. Such a beautiful word to say FLAB_BER_GAST. Pronounce it and you'll see what I'm talking about. Mmmmmmh see what I mean, if you didn't you're probably weird. haa the irony.
Today's look is all about my personal favorite (I have a lot of favorites so I'm sorry if you loose track, "This girls ain't loyal"), Mom Jeans. BTW they're literally my mom's jeans, sshhh. I remember when I was young (okay I am still young) "small", she would wear such pants and I would be like wharrathose?. I was pretty shady  coz my main fashion goal (if we could call it that) then was just to cover my big booty, I used to feel like my gluteus maximus was rhinoceros massive, so baggy clothes were the way to go It worked well for me (help me!!) lol.
Back to "mom's" Mom Jeans I used to think they were the worst, my mom would sometimes pass them down to me and I would stash them at the back of my closet, never to see the light of day. Then suddenly I was 15 and I started to slightly dislike them, so they moved close to the front and suddenly at 20 here I am classifying them as my personal favorite (good work Mom Jeans and mom).
I paired them with a cute grey top (which was once a hooded top) and brogues (heaven). And to wrap it all up (see what I did there?): a monochrome Head Wrap, for those bad hair days that make you run to the nearest leso /scarf, big triangular brass spiral earrings from dhana_vito and the cutest black and white "kyondo" bag from Masai Market.
Hope you enjoy today's look.
Have an awesome Easter Holiday.

ps: most of my head wrap styles are usually guess work because tutorials are hard to follow ;(.

Boho Chic

Hey yáll,
Happy New Month, Its March. Countdown to my 21st. wooop.
I know its been like 3 weeks since I last posted aaaand I know you're heart broken, but I'm back baby no need to worry, I'm here. lol I kid. But its been like forever, and I blame it on school (I know I always point fingers esp to school (no hard feelings shule) (only I use brackets within brackets within brackets, haaa)) but to some extent it's also somehow my fault cos I've been bailing on my photographer, if its not school, its meetings or birthday parties etc. Tsk. Despite all this. I am well for those who were worried and I promise to find a way to balance it all out.

Today's look is all boho chic. I've always had a fancy for anything vintage, sometimes I think I was born in the wrong generation but thank God in fashion you can incorporate any style/trends of the past to the future and make it sophisticated or if I may chic.
Here I styled a huge skater skirt that's slightly below the knees with a body suit with floral detail and black ankle heels (hell) Accessorized with some gold chains and black beaded necklace to cover the gaping hole left by the body suit cos I ain't gon' show off my back. And I finally did my hair, simple bob twists done with uzi (knitting thread). Easy to style and easy to maintain. Win win.
Hope you enjoyed the post and have yourself a blessed week.

PS this skirt is from mum's teenage-hood closet. Steallll.

Heels and Pastels

Heeey my people
Hope you're all good and life is taking yáll good. And the weather decided to change again!!! I give up complaining about it over and over, so we take what we get. *sigh*

Today's outfit is basically a pastel colored suit, I think the color  is what drew me to this suit. I'm not one to wear bright colors because I'm shy AF and I don't like attention directed towards me (unless there's a crush in the premises, Beyoncé Formation mode activated hahaa I kid), so the safest way to avoid this for me is to wear the dullest colors  I can find. But I shall work on that, trying to add some color in my closet, not getting rid of my shyness (team forever shy).
I paired the suit with a white top and some heels. Really not a big fan of heels but it seemed like the right choice for the outfit (courtesy of mum).
I remember there was an actual time I was completely in love with heels, like heels were my bread and butter, like heeeeeeels were bomb, theeeen just like that it ended like how do people walk around in heels for a whole day?? Please tell me? I was literally dying while doing this shoot which was less than 15 minutes and you'd think I had climbed a mountain in them, (what went wrong heels? I thought we were lovers) Yes I'll be those people who will be constantly in flats(brogues) at work.  I shall not subject my calves to torture. Unless they invent weightless heels then I shall MAYBE (the key word is ''maybe'') consider wearing them.
May hair is back to an afro. All I did was was my hair, Bantu Knotted it using lots of coconut oil (remember coconut oil is your best friend) stayed with them overnight then undid them and that was the result. No stress whatsoever.

PS: the suit was thrifted lol

Jumpsuit or Nah?

Heeey peeps
Its February we're finally done with the month of broke_ness (pardon my English) or as we Kenyans prefer: NJANUARY, unless you're a millionaire and you do not associate with being broke in January (one day Muthoni, one day...) good for you. But for us common men we are pretty excited, after indulging in festivities forgetting that the new year has months of its own tsk, but February is like the Clark Kent to our Smallville, the Waiyaki to our River Between etc. Yaani our hero.
(BTW have you heard Sia's new album *insert fire emoji*? jamming to it as I rant).
Buuuut also February comes with its cons: Valentine's day. Its really a touchy touchy topic especially when it comes to the singletons. Look on the bright side my darlings, no high expectations on that perfect night/day and BONUS It'll be on a Sunday, you won't have to leave the house (assuming you won't be working) and see guys holding hands, wearing red (people still do that?) and PDA left, right and centre, cursing that ex you left or left you and you fall into a deep "depression" of fatty foods!! Take heart my brother/sister  its gonna be alright...
I didn't help much? I'm sorry, you have a few days to get a bae. Up your game; I'll be your cheerleader lol

Enough of that let's get on with our post. Today's look is... before I say take 5 seconds to guess whether its a Jumpsuit or nah your time starts now *elevator music* mmmmhhhmm *drum rolls*..... its a..... no its not a jumpsuit its actually a suit (or rather pants and a top). Bet you didn.t expect that or did you? I shall never know.
So with this look I paired the alleged Jumpsuit with a black trench coat, my loves BROGUES, a brown clutch bag (which is actually a sling bag with replaceable straps), a brown belt (which was holding these pants which are super big on my waist) tied into a bow and ombre lips.
For my hair, since its at that awkward bob-length, I decided to just do a crown braid... not my best braid but whatevvs...I tried my best mama *sob*
This look can be worn literally anywhere; to work, a meeting, a date, night out etc.

ps; this outfit is under ksh 1000 excluding the trench... because thrifting is just bomb.

Of Rainy Days

Heeey people
As we continue with our unpredictable weather for as I write this its freaking hot outside buuuuut the day we did this shoot it was raining cats and more cats (just because: I love cats) tsk. Like really global warming, "why you gotta be so ruuuude" but we caused it so I shouldn't be complaining.

But hope the weather hasn't caught up with you and you're keeping warm or cool depending with the weather in your area/ time I'll put up this post.

This look is what I would typically wear on a cold day. Trenchies are my fav during the cold season coz they're stylish and keep you warm but if the sun happens to come out and you're in your Trench Coat and you don't like carrying it around (some can be really heavy), so you decide to keep it on(like me), my friend welcome to sweat fest. This happened to me once and after all the sweat fest I decided to remove the trench coat *(I coldn't take the heat no more), woi sweat patches everywhere so I just ended up putting it back on. Talk about embarrassment.
Lesson of the day if you're wearing a trench coat and the weather changes unexpectedly be ready for sweat fest (wooo) or carry it oooor you could find someone to help you carry it oooor check the weather forecast for the whole day(there are actual apps that could help you with that... T.G.F.Technology)

ps: this trench coat was just Ksh. 100 ;)
